Diarrhea is the frequent passage of loose, watery, soft stools with or without abdominal cramps, bloating and pressure. Diarrhea may be either acute or chronic. A number of diseases and conditions can cause diarrhea, including viral and bacterial infections, also parasites, intestinal disorders or diseases, reactions to medications, and food intolerance. The main symptom of diarrhea is watery liquid stools. Other symptoms of diarrhea are fever, dehydration, stomach cramps and bloating.
