Immune system is responsible for defending the body against bacteria and viruses. Immune system will defend substances that called antibodies or allergens. When body reacts to them, it causes an allergic reaction. Immune system’s reaction can inflame your skin, sinuses, airways or digestive system. The severity of allergies different from person to person and can range from minor irritation to anaphylaxis. Most allergies can’t be cured; treatment can help relieve your allergy symptoms.
There are many types of allergies like food allergy, skin allergy, dust allergy, eye allergy, hey fever allergy, drug allergy, sinusitis allergy, mold allergy, dog and cat allergy and insect sting allergy and many more. If you become exposed to an allergen for the first time, symptoms may be mild. These symptoms may get worse if you repeatedly come into contact with an allergen.
Symptoms of a mild allergic reaction are watery or itchy eyes, rash, itching, nasal congestion hives and scratchy throat. Symptoms of severe allergic reactions are: difficulty swallowing, pain in the chest, abdominal cramping or pain, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, heart palpitation, swelling of the face, eyes or tongue, weakness, wheezing, difficulty breathing and unconsciousness.
